The Princess and the Pauper Yeah, balik lagi ke TeenLit. Buat yang pernah baca/nonton The Princess Diaries, yah, nih novel kurang lebih setipe lah sama buku itu, tentang kehidupan putri yang ternyata ngga selamanya menyenangkan. Tapi di buku ini, diceritain kalo ada 2 orang yg mukanya mirip, tapi nasibnya beda jauh. Yang pertama, Carina, putri dari Vineland Republic, sebuah kerajaan di Eropa. Sedangkan satunya lagi, Julia, murid Rosewood Academy yang tinggal cuma berdua sama nyokapnya dan kehidupanya cenderung biasa2 aja, malah terancam diusir dari apartemennya karena ngga sanggup bayar sewa. Suatu ketika, Carina mengadakan kunjungan ke California, sebagai kunjungan kenegaraan, sekaligus datang ke konser sahabat cybernya, Ribbit. Carina tahu ia tak akan mungkin datang ke konser Ribbit walaupun ia sangat menginginkannya, oleh karena itu, ketika ia dan Ingrid, sahabatnya, bertemu dengan Julia di toilet Rosewood academy, Ingrid mengajukan suatu gagasan. Pertukaran tempat antara Julia dengan Carina. Hal inilah yang kemudian akan menimbulkan malapetaka besar di kedua belah pihak, sekaligus membawa pembaca ke akhir yang bahagia. Sbenernya ide ceritanya simpel2 aja, dan jalan ceritanya juga cukup mudah ditebak, yang bikin enak mbacanya adalah gaya berceritanya yang lancar, gampang dicerna, dan to the point, nggak bertele-tele. Meskipun sempet diceritain beberapa fakta yang mancing2 pembaca untuk nebak cerita selanjutnya, padahal ternyata fakta tsb sama sekali ngga berpengaruh apapun ke ceritanya, secara umum sih bisa dibilang novel ini cukup menarik. kalo suka Princess Diaries, mungkin bakal suka The Princess and the Pauper juga, sama2 menebarkan mimpi menjadi putri (^_^)
